Problem Possible Solution

Refrigerator not cooling.

  • Lights come on when door is opened? If yes:
  • Are temperature settings set too high? *Factory recommended temperature settings are 5 for both freezer and fresh food (refer to owner’s manual).
  • Request a Service Call!

Refrigerator not making ice

  • Check water supply (under sink or behind fridge) to see if water to machine is off. If yes, turn on water supply to fridge.
  • See if power switch on ice maker has accidently been switched to “off” position. If yes, return switch on ice maker to “on” position
  • Request a Service Call!

Excessive frost build up/machine not defrosting.

  • Was door left open for an extended period of time?
  • If yes, Request a Service Call! (Door left open causing excessive frost may have caused damage.)

Food in fresh food side is freezing.

  • Are temperature settings set too low?
    • Factory recommended temperature settings are 5 for both freezer and fresh food (see owners manual).
    • Also, foods placed directly in front of cold air inlet may freeze. Foods with higher sugar content (soda, jam/jelly, condiments, etc) are less likely to freeze and should be placed on higher shelves. Place lower sugar foods (meats, vegetables, etc.) on lower shelves.
  • Request a Service Call!

Making loud noise.

Leaking water.

Dispensing ice but not water.

  • Has water filter been changed in the last six months? If no, change filter.
  • If filter has been changed and problem still exists:
